Job summary

Hotel 41, part of The Red Carnation Hotel Collection, is seeking a calm, confident Night Manager to lead the overnight operation, support colleagues and ensure every guest feels truly looked after. You will oversee arrivals and departures, night audit, security and handovers, delivering warm, attentive service and upholding our standards across Reception and public areas.

The Opportunity

As Night Manager, you will be the senior manager on duty overnight and the reassuring presence that keeps Hotel 41 running smoothly. You will combine hands-on guest care with operational leadership, supporting everything from arrivals and service recovery to night audit, security and the morning handover.

What You'll Be Doing

You will lead the overnight operation, making thoughtful decisions that support guest satisfaction, colleague wellbeing and business priorities. You will oversee arrivals, departures, room allocations, VIP requirements, guest requests and service recovery, ensuring each interaction reflects the Hotel 41 and Red Carnation Hotels service standards. You will manage night audit, billing, cash handling, revenue processes and operational reporting with accuracy and care. You will complete security patrols and safety inspections while maintaining the presentation of Reception, the Executive Lounge and public areas. You will also support overnight food and beverage service, breakfast preparation and detailed handovers between the late and early teams.

What We’re Looking For

• The confidence and sound judgement to act as the senior manager on duty overnight.
• The ability to deliver warm, attentive guest service and respond professionally to requests, concerns and service recovery situations.
• Strong attention to detail when handling audit, billing, cash, revenue and reporting processes.
• A responsible approach to hotel security, emergency procedures, fire safety and health and safety compliance.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to produce accurate reports and detailed shift handovers.
• A collaborative, hands‑on approach, including the flexibility to support Reception, food and beverage service and other overnight priorities.
• A respectful and encouraging leadership style that helps colleagues feel supported and appreciated.
