Job summary

Colas Ltd in the UK is recruiting 2 x Highways Maintenance Operatives for night shifts at Coleshill Depot to support a range of maintenance across the Strategic Road Network. You will carry out reactive, routine and planned works, assist winter maintenance and incidents, and work with a team to ensure safe systems of work.

The role is full-time, predominantly nights with some day shifts, 40 hours per week, overtime and standby allowances.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
• Class C HGV Licence with CPC (preferred).
• Experience within highways maintenance or similar operational environment (desirable).
• Relevant highways qualifications (desirable).
• Willingness to learn and work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out a variety of highways maintenance activities safely and efficiently.
• Undertaking gully emptying, soft estate maintenance, sweeping and cleaning.
• Installing, maintaining and removing traffic management systems.
• Supporting winter maintenance and incident response.
• Participating in emergency response and ensuring safe systems of work.
