Job summary

The Edinburgh Grand, part of Marriott’s Luxury Collection, RBH Hospitality Management is seeking a Night Team Member to support overnight operations in Edinburgh. You will balance financial transactions, assist guests with late check-ins, and ensure security and smooth handovers with daytime staff.

Ideal candidates have hospitality or finance experience, strong attention to detail, good communication, and basic IT/PMS knowledge. Flexible night hours and customer focus are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or finance roles with accounting knowledge.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reconciliation.
• Good communication and guest service skills; basic IT and PMS familiarity.
• Willingness to work night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Balance and reconcile daily financial transactions, including room revenue and F&B sales.
• Prepare end-of-day financial reports for management and resolve discrepancies.
• Check in late arrivals, assist guests and provide overnight front desk support.
• Conduct regular security checks to ensure guest and property safety.
• Collaborate with front office and accounting to address issues identified at night.
• Prepare handover notes and ensure information is recorded for the day team.
• Handle emergencies overnight and coordinate with relevant departments.

AN EVENING IN THE LIFE OF NIGHT TEAM MEMBER AT OUR HOTEL

What you'll be doing...

• Balance and reconcile daily financial transactions, including room revenue, food and beverage sales, and other charges
• Prepare end-of-day financial reports for management, ensuring accuracy in accounting records and resolving discrepancies
• Check in late arrivals, assist guests with any inquiries, and provide overnight front desk support, ensuring a seamless guest experience
• Conduct regular security checks throughout the hotel premises to ensure guest and property safety
• Collaborate with the front office and accounting teams to address any issues identified during the night audit
• Maintain clear communication with the day team by preparing handover notes and ensuring all relevant information is recorded
• Handle any emergency situations overnight, acting as the point of contact and coordinating with necessary departments

What We Need From You

• Previous experience in hospitality or finance roles, with an understanding of accounting principles
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in financial reconciliation
• Good communication skills and the ability to handle guest enquiries professionally
• Basic IT skills and familiarity with property management systems (PMS)
• Flexibility to work night shifts and the ability to remain focused and productive
