Job summary

RBH Hospitality Management operates The Edinburgh Grand and seeks a Night Team Member to balance nightly revenues, assist late arrivals, and ensure guest satisfaction while maintaining security and accuracy in records.

You will join a dedicated night team, handle end-of-day reports, and coordinate with day teams to ensure seamless overnight operations. This role requires attention to detail, flexibility for night shifts, and basic PMS experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or finance roles.
• Strong attention to detail especially in financial reconciliation.
• Excellent communication with guests and colleagues.
• Basic IT skills; familiarity with property management systems (PMS).
• Ability to work night shifts and stay focused.

Responsibilities

• Balance and reconcile daily financial transactions for the hotel.
• Prepare end-of-day financial reports for management.
• Check in late arrivals and provide overnight front desk support.
• Conduct regular security checks to ensure safety.
• Collaborate with front office and accounting to resolve issues.
• Prepare handover notes and maintain clear communications.
• Handle emergencies overnight as point of contact.

AN EVENING IN THE LIFE OF NIGHT TEAM MEMBER AT OUR HOTEL

What you’ll be doing...

• Balance and reconcile daily financial transactions, including room revenue, food and beverage sales, and other charges
• Prepare end-of-day financial reports for management, ensuring accuracy in accounting records and resolving discrepancies
• Check in late arrivals, assist guests with any inquiries, and provide overnight front desk support, ensuring a seamless guest experience
• Conduct regular security checks throughout the hotel premises to ensure guest and property safety
• Collaborate with the front office and accounting teams to address any issues identified during the night audit
• Maintain clear communication with the day team by preparing handover notes and ensuring all relevant information is recorded
• Handle any emergency situations overnight, acting as the point of contact and coordinating with necessary departments

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• Previous experience in hospitality or finance roles, with an understanding of accounting principles
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in financial reconciliation
• Good communication skills and the ability to handle guest enquiries professionally
• Basic IT skills and familiarity with property management systems (PMS)
• Flexibility to work night shifts and the ability to remain focused and productive
