Job summary

Abbey House Veterinary Hospital in Morley, Leeds is seeking a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join our emergency team. You’ll work 7pm–8:30am on a 7 nights on / 14 nights off pattern, handling a varied ECC caseload with a supportive nursing team.

This Tier 3 hospital offers full imaging, multiple theatres, ICU, on-site lab, and a collaborative environment where clinicians develop their skills while delivering high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Interest in emergency and critical care.
• Ability to manage emergency medical and surgical cases.
• Calm under pressure with sound clinical decisions.
• Excellent communication with clients.
• Works well in a close-knit team.

Responsibilities

• Assess, stabilise and manage critically ill or injured patients.
• Perform emergency medical and surgical procedures.
• Develop appropriate treatment plans and adapt them as patients respond to treatment.
• Make strong, evidence-based clinical decisions in challenging situations.
• Manage cases through to handover or discharge.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients.
• Work closely with the nursing team to provide excellent patient care.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative and supportive team environment.
