Job summary

Links Veterinary Group in East Lothian is seeking a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join our established out-of-hours team. You’ll manage a broad range of emergency and critical care cases overnight, delivering high-quality clinical care and making independent decisions alongside an experienced nursing team.

The role offers a 12-hour night pattern with 4 nights on and 8 nights off, averaging around 31.75 hours per week when holiday cover is included, and a supportive culture focused on patient

Qualifications

• Veterinary degree and RCVS registration or eligibility to register.
• Experience in emergency and critical care, or keen to develop ECC skills.
• Ability to make autonomous clinical decisions in a sole-charge environment.
• Strong communication with clients and the team.
• Ability to manage a varied, fast-paced emergency caseload.

Responsibilities

• Manage emergency and critical care cases overnight.
• Provide high-quality patient care and make confident clinical decisions.
• Work within a sole-charge environment.
• Perform emergency procedures and surgery as required.
• Monitor inpatients and communicate handovers to daytime team.
