Job summary

Millennium Hotels and Resorts seeks a Night Duty Manager for the Copthorne Cardiff-Caerdydd area. The role includes serving as night manager, handling guest queries, and coordinating the overnight security team from 11pm to 7am.

Initial duties include porter tasks to acclimate with the team and hotel operations. The ideal candidate will have prior hotel reception or duty manager experience, strong problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities, and a professional, friendly demeanor to ensure guest

Responsibilities

• Serve as the night manager on duty for all shifts and act as first point of contact for guests.
• Manage guest requests in a helpful and professional manner.
• Coordinate overnight security team, CCTV monitoring, and floor walks.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel policies and procedures to inform staff and visitors.
• Contribute to workload distribution to ensure seamless handovers between shifts.
• Undertake Night Porter responsibilities as required.

We currently have a 24 hour contract available for someone that is able to serve as one of our Night Duty Managers alongside performing basic receptionist / security duties. Initially the successful candidate will undertake Porter role to become familiar with the hotel and team and work up to Duty Manager Shifts Our guests stay 7 days a week, so we need someone who is available to work a variety of nights, including weekends and holiday cover, between the hours of 11pm and 7am.

As one of our Night Duty Managers, your main role will be:

• Serve as the night manager on duty for all shifts, assuming the role of emergency crisis controller and being the first point of contact for any guests requesting to speak to a manager
• Manage all requests we get from guests and their associates in a helpful & professional manner
• Coordinate of the overnight security team which includes monitoring CCTV and site 'floor walks'
• Build and maintain a current, working knowledge of all hotel policies, procedures & systems, as well as general information, to be able to provide staff and visitors with information as required
• Contribute fairly to the teams workload on each shift and ensure seamless service from one shift to the next.
• Undertake Night Porter responsibilities as required.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a hotel receptionist / duty manager role, preferably gained in night shift work (but not essential)
• Excellent problem solving & multi-tasking skills, with the ability to take ownership of all guest safety & queries during their Duty Management shifts
• Confidence, professionalism and a friendly personality
• Exceptional attention to detail
