CORNWALLIS CARE SERVICES LTD. in Looe, Cornwall, is seeking a Night Healthcare Assistant to provide compassionate, person-centred care throughout the night. The role offers progression to Enhanced Healthcare Assistant with training and competency assessments.

You will support residents, perform wellbeing checks, document care activities, and collaborate with the team to ensure dignity, safety and comfort during night hours. Training and development are provided.

Qualifications

• Care Certificate; support to achieve on days before moving to night shift.
• Ability to stay awake during night shifts.
• Caring and empathetic nature with a passion for helping others.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Strong communication and rapport-building with residents and colleagues.
• Good written English for accurate documentation.
• Basic IT skills for digital systems.
• Willingness to learn and maintain training.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with personal care, maintaining privacy, dignity and respect.
• Engage residents in conversations and activities to enhance quality of life.
• Deliver care in a person-centred manner tailored to individual needs.
• Conduct wellbeing and health checks per care plans.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external healthcare professionals.
• Record and maintain resident information using digital systems.
• Report incidents or concerns to senior team members.
