Job summary

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board in Wales is recruiting a permanent, part-time Band 3 Nursing Support Worker for Bryntirion Surgery in Bargoed. The role is 30 hours per week across five days, with pay at NHS Band 3 pro rata.

You will work in appointment-based clinics, take measurements, support clinical staff, and contribute to care for patients with long‑term conditions. Welsh language skills are desirable but not required.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 qualification in a healthcare-related subject or equivalent.
• Experience in health or social care settings with direct patient care is required.
• Welsh language skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prioritise delegated workload and adjust for emergencies.
• Work under supervision of a registered healthcare professional.
• Record height, weight and BMI accurately.
• Support clinicians in clinics for long-term conditions and other clinics.
• Take and record physiological measurements (temp, BP, resp rate, pulse, diabetic foot checks).
• Carry out point-of-care tests and record results.
• Attend training to develop new skills.
