Job summary

Spire Nottingham Hospital is seeking an NHS Co-Ordinator to join on a 4 month fixed term contract. The role is part-time (22.5 hours) and focuses on NHS administration, KPI monitoring, and patient pathway management across inpatient, day case and outpatient settings.

You will coordinate NHS contract requirements, manage patient journeys, and support the Capacity and Utilisation Manager and clinical leads with data and reporting. NHS IT systems including SAP are used.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in administration or Information Technology and/or equivalent experience
• Evidence of ongoing personal development
• Good standard of secondary education with demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills
• Management/supervisory qualification
• Track record of successful delivery in a similar role
• Experience of working with data and information
• Experience of producing and working with computer-based systems to track and record information
• Experience of working as part of multi-disciplinary team
• Advanced software skills including Microsoft Office packages and excellent speed/accuracy level of keyboard skills
• Understanding and experience using hospital systems including SAP and other patient data systems
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Responsibilities

• To action ongoing NHS contract requirements, liaising with key departments as appropriate
• To actively work through total open pathways for all NHS patients ensuring the 18-week breach is adhered to
• To ensure weekly meeting attendance, and actions worked through appropriately
• To act as a hospital contact and to be responsible for the internal administrative processes regarding all NHS activity
• To monitor and administer the patient journey throughout, updating trackers daily and ensuring patients are treated within timeframes
• To deal with patient appointment queries effectively and change/discharge when necessary, following investigations
• To be responsible for reporting and compliance of key required information
• Ensure team focus on relevant targets within the team
• To monitor NHS patient clinics ensuring slot allocation is available for patient choice as agreed with consultants
• Liaise with other departments across the hospital to prevent errors
• Communicate with other hospitals, GP surgeries and medical secretaries as required
• Develop effective working practices with Capacity Managers to promote collaborative clinic capacity
