Qualifications

• Experience applying SNOMED CT codes to clinical documents.
• Familiar with GP practice coding protocols.
• Commitment to data quality and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Process all incoming clinical correspondence via Docman/Better Letter and NHS systems within agreed timescales.
• Review correspondence to identify diagnoses, investigations, procedures and medications.
• Ensure correspondence is filed accurately within the patient’s electronic medical record.
• Identify urgent or clinically significant information and elevate promptly.
• Forward correspondence requiring clinical action to the appropriate GP or clinician.
• Maintain workflow queues to ensure correspondence is processed efficiently.
• Apply accurate SNOMED CT codes to clinical correspondence.
• Update disease registers where appropriate.
• Follow Practice Coding Protocol and participate in coding audits and quality assurance reviews.
• Collaborate with GPs, nurses and the Recall Team to ensure clarity and timely action.
