Job summary

NHS Jobs in the United Kingdom is seeking a Clinical Read Coder to join the on-site team. The post-holder will record paper, electronic and result documents into clinical records, including coding data and identifying processing requirements in line with the Practice Read Coding Protocol.

You will input patient information into clinical systems, code correspondence and results, use anatomical and physiological terms to find codes, check tasks and process emails.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Practice Read Coding Protocol.
• Ability to work with GP, nurses and surgery staff.
• Commitment to confidentiality and data protection.
• Experience with clinical records management is desirable.

Responsibilities

• To support the Clinical team in the delivery of safe and efficient document management systems of patient medical records.
• Inputting patient information into the clinical medical systems.
• Coding electronic and paper related correspondence and results, accurately and consistently.
• Effective use of anatomical and physiological terms and knowledge to find relevant codes and link problems.
• Checking patient tasks and taking action to complete as required.
• Processing of email correspondence.
• Control all patient files and related admin to required quality standards and in line with information governance, GDPR and DPA regulations.
• Maintain accurate records.
