Job summary

Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Catering Supervisor (Band 4) to lead the catering team at Kingsway & Radbourne Town in Derby. The role requires supervising meal preparation, ensuring food safety, and managing shift duties and rosters for patient and staff catering.

You will work 37.5 hours weekly across early and late shifts, with weekends included, contributing to high-quality meals and strict hygiene standards while supporting service improvements.

Qualifications

• Proven supervisory experience in a catering environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles.
• Experience in managing staff rosters and workload.

Responsibilities

• To cook meals for patients and staff that are nutritious, appetising and nice to eat.
• To supervise preparation and service of food across all kitchen sections.
• To allocate work fairly and issue staff instructions during shifts.
• To manage cash handling and daily reconciliation for staff restaurant and call orders.
• To ensure adherence to food safety and health and safety legislation.
