Job summary

Welsh Ambulance Services in Swansea is seeking a NHS 111 Wales Call Handler on a permanent basis. Roles are full-time (37.5 hours) with shift work and a fixed rota; part-time options exist with different hours.

Salary is £26,813–£27,890 per year pro rata, plus shift enhancements for unsociable hours. Training is provided in full-time daytime hours for 5 weeks and you must commit to this training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (desirable).
• Dealing with the public on the phone.
• Working as part of a team.
• Good telephony skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls from the public for NHS 111 Wales.
• Listen actively, make quick decisions and respond confidently.
• Enter patient information quickly and accurately into the computer system.
• Work as part of a team and participate in training.
• Must be able to commit to training and complete it.
