Job summary

Waters Corporation in Wilmslow, UK, is seeking a scientist to join the Advanced Diagnostics LC-MS R&D team to develop mass spectrometry–based analytical applications for newborn screening and biochemical genetics.

You will develop, validate and transfer analytical methods, produce notes/posters, and present data at conferences while ensuring GLP/QMS compliance. Travel globally for customer-facing activities and training; Waters offers flexible salary packages and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree level in Biochemistry, Chemistry or related life-science
• Experience in development and validation of LC-MS/MS analytical techniques
• Understanding of newborn screening or biochemical genetics workflows and GLP/QMS

Responsibilities

• Develop new applications for clinical research and diagnostics centered around newborn screening and LC-MS/MS assays
• Produce application notes and scientific posters
• Evaluate new hardware, software and consumables development
• Transfer knowledge of applications, hardware, software and diagnostic kits to stakeholders
• Attend scientific conferences to present data and gather knowledge
• Provide technical presentations at internal and external meetings
• Ensure GLP, quality management system and health & safety standards are adhered to
