Job summary

LGC ASSURE Sports & Specialised Analytical Services in Fordham, UK, is seeking a Senior Scientist to join the Innovation team. You will develop and validate LC-MS-based analytical methods, design extraction workflows, and deliver high-quality data to support business initiatives.

The role requires strong LC-MS expertise, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to communicate complex findings. You will contribute to exciting, cross-functional projects in a world-class testing laboratory.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or a relevant scientific field.
• Experience working in a busy analytical laboratory, ideally commercial.
• Strong practical experience with LC-MS instrumentation including development, optimisation, and validation.
• Experience developing extraction methods and sample preparation workflows.
• Knowledge of chromatography techniques and analytical method validation principles.
• Able to interpret complex analytical data and communicate findings clearly.
• Excellent written communication and ability to produce technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimise, and validate LC-MS-based analytical methods.
• Design and develop extraction approaches and sample preparation workflows.
• Configure, operate, troubleshoot, and optimise LC-MS instrumentation to generate high-quality data.
• Analyse and interpret complex data, identify trends, and support decision-making.
• Produce technical reports, validation summaries, and project updates.
• Present scientific findings to internal teams and external customers.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure ISO 17025 compliance.
