Job summary

Howden is seeking an ambitious New Business Commercial Account Handler to join our SME team in Caterham. This full-time, permanent role offers hybrid working with 2-3 days per week in the Caterham office, focused on delivering bespoke commercial insurance solutions for a diverse client base.

You will leverage Acturis to manage client data, quotes, and documentation while supporting cross-selling across divisions.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Certificate in Insurance (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Assist in achieving Group/Division client New Business sales targets by providing an excellent level of service.
• Undertake market exercises to establish most competitive terms available.
• Produce and issue professional summaries and reports using Howden templates.
• Issue renewal documentation in line with contract certainty.
• Ensure premiums are collected prior to the commencement of cover and in line with Howden procedures.
• Prioritise and handle all work promptly and accurately.
• Handle all queries, whether written or by telephone, in a professional manner and process effectively in line with service standards.
• Record all relevant information, correspondence, and documentation on Acturis and make effective use of the diary system.
• Produce accurate and professional documentation at all times using relevant Howden templates.
• Process adjustments in line with procedures, including notification to insurers, issue of revised documentation, and collection of additional premiums.
• Actively cross-sell products from other Divisions.
• Refer all queries that fall outside own experience, knowledge and authority to senior staff.
