Job summary
Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5/6 nurse to join the Neurodevelopmental team in supporting young people on ADHD medication. The post involves multidisciplinary collaboration with psychiatry, psychology, OT and registered nurses to conduct ADHD and Autism assessments and review medications.
The role supports non-medical prescribers with medication reviews and case management for young people, within a busy, safeguarding-aware service based in East Sussex.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with current registration in mental health/LD/adult.
- Knowledge of MHA (1983/2007).
- Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act (2005) including FACE documentation, DOLS and Best Interest decisions.
- Child and Adult safeguarding procedures.
- Change management to organise and prioritise workload.
- Demonstrate evidence-based care and ongoing professional development.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of young people taking ADHD medication.
- Record physical health observations (height, weight, BP, pulse) in the electronic patient record.
- Produce clinical outcome letters to GPs and other services.
- Complete risk assessments and collaboratively develop care plans with young people.
- Respond to clinical enquiries and support the team.
- Liaise with other agencies and follow East Sussex safeguarding processes.
