Job summary

HCLTech in London, UK, is seeking a Patch Management Analyst to join the network operations team on a hybrid basis at a client location. You will coordinate firmware and software updates across routers, switches, firewalls and wireless infrastructure.

The role requires about 2 years in network operations, a methodical, detail-oriented approach, and the ability to follow patch runbooks, verify backups, and log activities in ITSM systems.

Qualifications

• 2 years in network operations or NOC environments.
• Good understanding of routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with change management and patching runbooks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate firmware/software patching across network devices per change records.
• Perform pre-patch tasks: verify backups and maintenance windows.
• Execute patch steps: upload image, verify hashes, schedule reloads.
• Verify post-patch health: interfaces, routing, connectivity.
• Log activities in ITSM systems (ServiceNow / Remedy).
• Maintain firmware inventory and flag outdated software.
• Communicate maintenance windows to stakeholders and NOC.
• Escalate issues to L2 promptly.
• Assist in weekly patch compliance reporting.
