A great opportunity to make a difference within the Wastewater Network. Internally, this role is known as Sewer Network Manager.

As a Sewer Network Manager, you will be responsible for the productivity and performance of sewer networks across Hampshire, maintaining service standards to meet strategic targets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading a team of sewer network engineers. You will collaborate with Waste Pump Station Managers and various support functions to reduce pollution, manage flooding, promote health and safety, control finances, and deliver excellent customer service.

You will be accountable for network performance within Hampshire, managing operational risk, working with Asset Management to ensure appropriate CAPEX and OPEX asset improvement plans, managing your OPEX budget, and coaching your team with a focus on employee engagement to deliver performance at least cost.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Ensuring controls are in place for value, safety, compliance, and service risk.
  2. Balancing demands of team, resources, compliance, efficiency, asset quality, and other business parts to solve problems.
  3. Working with service providers (e.g., Lanes - O&M, CBUL - Civils, McAllister - Lining) to ensure efficient operations.
  4. Building relationships across Southern Water to facilitate collaboration.
  5. Providing out-of-hours advice and support for incident response when necessary.
  6. Managing reactive issues like burst rising mains, implementing and monitoring contingency plans.
  7. Managing risks related to regulatory compliance, financials, service delivery, and health and safety, including contingency and infiltration reduction plans.

This role involves working with external stakeholders such as the Environment Agency, Local Authorities, British Standards Institute, and direct customer contacts, as well as liaising internally with operational teams to exchange information about plant functioning and maintenance.
