Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Network Infrastructure Specialist to lead a full replacement of the 2960x estate and migrate to newer models. The role requires out-of-hours work, lone working, and strong self-management across multiple sites.

Key duties include expertise in switch models, port configurations, and 24/7 operations. You will participate in change boards and coordinate with clinical and non-clinical staff while delivering a high-stability network.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of various switch models and configurations.
• Deep understanding of port-level configurations and requirements for operation.
• Experience installing switches in a 24/7/365 environment is desirable.
• Experience working in multiple hubs with associated complexities.
• Ability to defend changes at a change board and explain them to staff.

Responsibilities

• Replace all 300+ edge switches across the trust, including out-of-hours work.
• Travel between sites and work independently and within teams.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and participate in change and operational impact boards.
