Job summary

NHS North East London Integrated Care Board (ICB) is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to manage corporate and primary care networks across multiple on-prem data centers and sites within the ICB region. The role requires high-level troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and strong stakeholder engagement.

You will mentor junior staff, lead ITIL processes such as Change, Major Incident, and Problem management, and participate in cross-team projects to improve network reliability and security.

Qualifications

Job description

The Senior Network Engineer will be part of a team responsible for the operational management of corporate and primary care networks spanning multiple on premises datacentres as well as many sites across the NHS North East London ICB region. This role is a highly skilled technical role, requiring strong troubleshooting skills and an eye for detail. The role requires experience with various technologies and tools such as Cisco ACI, Cisco routing and switching, FortiManager, FortiAnalyser, FortiAuthenicator, FortiNac, FortiAPs, FortiSwitches, SD-Wan, Layer2/3 routing and switching, Netbox, IPAM, Solarwinds, Zabbix, LogicMonitor, PowerShell, Python, Azure networking., o The postholder will be required to maintain constructive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels including corporate ICB colleagues, ICT peers and direct reports, partners, supplierso Participate in relevant internal and external working groups/projects, services and initiatives to provide, information and analytical advice and expertise.o To liaise with other managers to share best practice.o Developed communication skills for delivering key messages to a range of stakeholders both internal and external (including outside the NHS) to the organisation, some at very senior levelo Good presentational skills for conveying complex conceptso Ability to use informed persuasion to influence others, We are an exciting new organisation putting the needs of communities at the heart of our commissioning arrangements.

This role is a senior role, as such mentoring of junior employees is required, as well as communication of complex technical tasks to non-technical colleagues and customers. Occasional requirement to provide team leadership when line management is on leave, as well as leadership in ITIL processes such as Change Management, Major Incident Management and Problem management.
