Job summary

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Network Infrastructure professional to manage and optimise our campus LAN/WAN, WLAN and data centre networks. You will provide pro-active support, escalation contact within the Digital Services team, and contribute to high-availability services across NHS facilities.

Key requirements include CCNA or equivalent, experience with Cisco network technologies, and the ability to work on the on-call rota.

Qualifications

• A Level 5 qualification in a relevant computer related discipline or equivalent knowledge/experience.
• Experience of managing a Network infrastructure LAN, WAN, WLAN.
• Knowledge and experience of CISCO network technologies.
• Appropriate industry recognised qualifications e.g. CCNA R&S or equivalent.
• Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods.
• Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools.
• Valid UK driving licence and ability to use a car for work use or Trust vehicle availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for the Trust’s LAN/WAN, WLAN and DC, ensuring maximum service availability in line with Trust SLAs.
• Be a point of escalation through the network operations team.
• Maintain documentation of data and voice network infrastructure as developed and maintained.
• Troubleshoot and triage all initial network related issues trust wide.
• Assist with installation of cabling throughout client sites.
• Participate in the out of hours on‑call rota.
