Job summary

West Northamptonshire Council is recruiting a Network Engineer to join our Digital, Data & Technology team. You’ll provide day-to-day support for the Council’s network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls and remote access solutions, ensuring high availability and reliability.

You’ll work across varied networks, contribute to upgrades, change management and security improvements, and document configurations while collaborating with colleagues, suppliers and partners to deliver

Qualifications

• Experience with networking technologies and operation of network services.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve issues across complex networks.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for the Council’s network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, firewalls and remote access solutions.
• Monitor network performance, investigate incidents and implement solutions to maintain high levels of service availability.
• Support the delivery of network upgrades, configuration changes and infrastructure improvements following change management processes and technical standards.
