Job summary

Clear IT Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Network Engineer for their Colchester, Essex office. You will ensure security, reliability and performance of the IT infrastructure across multiple sites, overseeing on-premises and cloud systems, servers and network architecture.

You will implement and monitor security measures, manage documentation, and support day-to-day IT operations, with a focus on governance alignment to Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001 standards.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of network and security concepts, including routers, switches, firewalls and Wi‑Fi.
• In-depth experience with procurement, supplier management and device deployments.
• Experience in security, patching, VPNs, threat protection and vulnerability fixes.
• Project delivery experience and rollout coordination.
• Proficiency with Windows Server technologies and Hyper‑V virtualization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee incidents and collaborate with service desk to minimise disruption.
• Design, implement and maintain network architecture across offices and cloud platforms.
• Manage security measures, firewalls, VPNs, access controls and threat protection.
• Update IT policy docs and ensure compliance with Cyber Essentials / ISO 27001.
• Document technical issues and support supplier management and contracts.
