Job summary

West Northants Council is seeking a Network Engineer to support the digital infrastructure across West Northamptonshire. You'll help maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls and remote access, ensuring security, resilience and high service levels.

Working in our Digital, Data & Technology team, you will monitor performance, respond to incidents, assist network upgrades, document changes and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in networking technologies across LAN/WAN and Wi‑Fi.
• Knowledge of security controls and resilience planning.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving incidents in complex networks.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, firewalls and remote access.
• Monitor network performance, investigate incidents and implement fixes.
• Support network upgrades, configuration changes and infrastructure improvements.
• Maintain documentation and contribute to continuous improvement.
