Job summary

West Northants Council is seeking a Network Engineer to support and secure its digital infrastructure. The role focuses on maintaining reliable LAN/WAN networks, Wi‑Fi and remote access, with emphasis on incident response, performance monitoring and change-driven improvements.

You will work within the Digital, Data & Technology team to ensure resilient services for residents and staff, contributing to security and business continuity initiatives.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in network support within an operational IT environment.
• Strong understanding of LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi and firewall technologies.
• Experience with remote access solutions and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi and remote access.
• Monitor network performance, investigate incidents and implement fixes to maintain service levels.
• Contribute to network upgrades, changes and documentation with change-management adherence.
