Job summary

Flying Colours Consultancy Limited is seeking a part-time Network Engineer for an on-site deployment in Oxford. The role is two days per week (Wed/Thu, subject to change) with a 3-month contract and a daily rate of £110–£120. Start ASAP; candidates should be local or commutable.

Responsibilities include installing servers, switches, firewall, running WiFi surveys, patching cables, auditing environments, and setting up user devices while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Previous exposure to hardware/server installs is beneficial.
• IT certifications such as CompTIA A+ or N+ are of interest.
• A passion for IT and delivering exceptional customer service.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook with clear communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
• Able to work hours with variable start and finish times.

• Setting up new users, desktop PC's, laptops and printers.
• Secure disposal of IT equipment which is no longer required.
• Travel within Greater London.

Characteristics/experience needed for a Network Engineer:

• Previous exposure to hardware/server installs would be beneficial.
• Any IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, N+ would be of interest
• A passion for IT and delivering exceptional customer service.
