DP World is currently recruiting a skilled Network Engineer to support the maintenance, design, and implementation of essential networks. This includes site surveys for new site launches and assisting with the daily operations of existing sites across Europe. The role will be based in Coventry with a hybrid working model, and will require travel within the UK and Europe.

About the role:

1. Support the global network across various disciplines and become a subject matter expert in areas such as LAN, WAN, Wireless, Security, and VOIP.
2. Collaborate with global IT teams and management throughout the project lifecycle, including proof of concept, design, procurement, configuration, installation, testing, documentation, and support.
3. Lead multiple projects from initiation to completion, including site launches and refreshes, supporting up to 1000 users on-site.
4. Provide third-level support for network issues at sites and data centers, including primary data centers in Dublin and Las Vegas.
5. Perform network patching, maintenance, and configuration changes as part of change management processes.
6. Manage and monitor network tools proactively to troubleshoot issues.
7. Conduct root cause analysis of incidents and implement corrective actions.
8. Travel locally and internationally as needed (approximately 25%).
9. Monitor emails for alerts from the service desk and resolve or escalate issues accordingly.
10. Possess a good understanding of VOIP and related protocols.
11. Support change management activities during weekends when on call.
12. Participate in CAB calls, present changes, and respond to RFC challenges.
13. Continuously learn and improve network engineering methods.
14. Maintain professional communication with team members and clients.
15. Ensure high quality and quantity of work, keeping technical skills up-to-date.
16. Provide technical recommendations to system administrators and application owners.

Your Key Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a large international organization (50,000+ users).
• Strong Cisco switching and wireless skills, with experience in large deployments.
• Knowledge of routing, SD-WAN, firewalls, VOIP, network tools, automation, and cloud migration.
• CCNP certification (desirable).
• Over 10 years of experience installing and configuring enterprise networks.
• Experience supporting enterprise applications such as switches, routers, access points, and firewalls.
• ASA/Palo Alto Firewall certification (desirable).
• Experience with Velocloud is a plus but not essential.
• Expertise in Cisco routing, switching, and wireless infrastructure.
