Job Title: Lead Network Engineer

Location: Remote (UK-based) with occasional travel to Leeds

• Design, implement, and support scalable and resilient network infrastructure
• Ensure network availability, performance, and security across a global landscape
• Lead technical decision-making and architecture reviews within the network domain
• Automate operational tasks using tools like Ansible and scripting languages such as Python
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex network issues and incidents

• Define best practices and mentor other engineers, fostering knowledge sharing

Required Skills and Experience:

• Deep understanding of enterprise networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, etc.)
• Proven experience in network design, routing, switching, and load balancing
• Strong knowledge of network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention
• Experience with large-scale, cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI)
• Proficiency in automation and scripting (Ansible, Python, or similar)
• Hands-on experience with metrics, monitoring tools, and alerting frameworks
• Excellent communication skills with a collaborative and problem-solving mindset
• Strong leadership abilities to influence and mentor technical teams
