Job summary

Millbank Holdings Ltd is seeking a Sustainability Manager to lead the development and delivery of sustainability strategies for a major civil infrastructure project near Sellafield. The role focuses on reducing carbon emissions, enhancing resource efficiency, and ensuring compliance with UK environmental legislation and ISO 14001.

You will collaborate across design, construction, and procurement teams while engaging with communities and regulators.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Management, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in sustainability management within large-scale civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation, carbon reduction strategies, and circular economy principles.
• Proven track record in implementing ISO 14001 and sustainability frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the project’s sustainability strategy in line with client objectives and UK environmental regulations.
• Monitor and report on carbon reduction targets, waste management, and resource efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and other relevant sustainability standards.
• Collaborate with design, construction, and procurement teams to integrate sustainable solutions.
• Engage with stakeholders, local communities, and regulatory bodies to promote social value and environmental stewardship.
• Prepare sustainability performance reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
• Lead initiatives to achieve net-zero targets and enhance biodiversity on project sites.
