Location: Site/Project based with weekly meetings at SEIC (hybrid options TBC)

Status: CONTRACT (renewable) – INSIDE IR35

Reports to: Engineering Construction LEAD (BNI and BoP Piping)

Morson Talent is working on behalf of a major player within the Energy Sector who has a current requirement for an NDT Contract Engineering Lead (Piping) to join their established site-based team in Somerset. This is a front-line site delivery role offering a unique opportunity to contribute to one of Europe's largest infrastructure/construction projects. Scope

To deliver the engineering required for managing the Non-Destructive Testing contract, which is separate from the MEH installation contract. This includes standard NDT processes (Radiography, Ultrasonic testing, Dye penetrant testing, Magnetic particle inspection) and specialized NDT: Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT).

Principal Responsibilities

1. Work closely with the NDT Contract Project Manager and Technical Lead.
2. Support contractor documentation management by producing and updating the List of Documents Required from the contractor and the associated Surveillance plan.
3. Develop and implement on-site PAUT solutions to replace radiography.
4. Respond to technical queries and early warnings.
5. Coordinate activities between the Installation contract and NDT contract.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience in an equivalent/related role related to NDT and/or contract engineering.
• Meticulous and rigorous approach to engineering to achieve high professional standards.
• Proven ability to deliver engineering safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
• Strong leadership skills to coordinate efficient delivery through team empowerment and organizational support.
• Ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Ability to work autonomously with awareness of personal limitations.
• Knowledge of contractual and commercial mechanisms.
• Knowledge of various NDT techniques.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in a related engineering field.
• Chartered Engineer status with a relevant engineering institute.
• Piping engineering, installation, and/or commissioning experience.
• Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
• Experience or certification in Ultrasonic Testing.
