Job summary

Babcock is seeking an Engineering Support Fabricator at HMNB Clyde Faslane. The role focuses on hands-on fabrication to sustain submarines and surface ships, contributing to national defence and maritime safety. You’ll work in a precision‑driven team, interpreting drawings and applying safety standards to keep fleets mission-ready.

Full-time, based on site in Helensburgh, with 36 hours/week, and a range of benefits as part of a comprehensive package. Security Check clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Recognised Welding/Fabrication/Plater Apprenticeship to SVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• HNC or above in a relevant discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform light to heavy fabrication and structural activities to support maintenance and refit operations.
• Investigate faults and determine effective repair methods.
• Interpret engineering drawings, plans and standards to manufacture or repair systems.
• Complete Engineering Support work packages to ensure operational availability.
• Work within health and safety legislation and contribute to process improvements.
