Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Weapons Engineering Instructor at HM Naval Base Clyde near Helensburgh to train Royal Navy submarine crews in sonar and tactical weapons systems.

You will deliver high-quality instruction, update materials, support course development, complete admin tasks, and help ensure security compliance. This onsite role is Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week, with a clear SC clearance path.

Qualifications

• Submarine Tactical Weapons Engineering Systems knowledge, ideally on Astute class.
• Knowledge of sonar, integrated communications, command systems or weapons disciplines.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong organisational skills with multi-tasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist Weapons Engineering training focused on sonar and tactical weapons systems.
• Update training materials to reflect operational and technical developments.
• Provide technical expertise to support course development, system changes and training improvement initiatives.
• Complete training administration, reporting and learner records per quality standards.
• Support security compliance activities, audits and protection of sensitive information and assets.
