Job summary

Babcock invites applications for an Engineering Support Operative at HM Naval Base Clyde, Helensburgh. The role supports frontline waterfront operations across a critical defence site, ensuring vessels, equipment and facilities stay operational and safe.

You will work in a fast-paced engineering/operational environment, gaining exposure to diverse activities and contributing to national security. The position is full-time, 36 hours weekly, with set Mon-Thu shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in waterfront, marine, maritime, engineering, industrial or operational support activities.
• Knowledge of standard operating procedures and safe working practices.
• Understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements in an operational environment.
• Experience of quality assurance processes and working to established standards.
• Knowledge of manual handling activities and risk assessment principles.

Responsibilities

• Supporting waterfront operations to complete tasks safely, efficiently and to schedule.
• Following established procedures and safe systems of work while maintaining high standards.
• Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and productivity.
• Working in accordance with health, safety and environmental requirements across the site.
• Performing a variety of operational and engineering support activities within your skills, training and capability.
