Job summary

Babcock invites applications for an Engineering Support Operative at HM Naval Base Clyde, Helensburgh. The role provides multi-skilled support across waterfront operations, ensuring vessels, equipment and facilities stay operational, safe and mission-ready within a fast-paced defence environment.

You will work Monday-Thursday, 36 hours, on-site, building experience in naval engineering and QA, with security clearance requirements and a range of benefits including pension, health and training

Qualifications

• Experience in waterfront, marine or operational support activities.
• Knowledge of standard operating procedures and safe working practices.
• Understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements in an operational environment.
• Experience of quality assurance processes and working to established standards.
• Knowledge of manual handling activities and risk assessment principles.

Responsibilities

• Supporting waterfront operations to complete tasks safely, efficiently and on schedule.
• Following procedures and safe systems of work with high operational standards.
• Contributing to process improvements to enhance productivity.
• Working with health, safety and environmental requirements on site.
• Carrying out a variety of operational and engineering support activities within your capability.
