Job summary

Aberdeenshire Council is seeking a Nature Nurture Practitioner to deliver outdoor interventions for children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The role focuses on building relationships, resilience, and self-esteem through nature-based activities.

The post is fixed-term until 25 March 2027 and requires PVG scheme clearance and pre-employment checks, including overseas criminal record checks if applicable. A current reference from your employer is required.

Qualifications

• HND Child Development or equivalent transferrable skills and experience.
• Experience delivering outdoor interventions to children is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills and love for outdoor settings.

Do you have an HND Child Development qualification or equivalent transferrable skills and experience, a love of the outdoors and a desire to try something new? If so, this may be the post for you.

We are looking for Nature Nurture Practitioner to join our team.

Your role will be to provide targeted nature nurture outdoor intervention to children, to foster positive relationships, emotional resilience, and enhance self-esteem and self-awareness.

Requirements

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
