Job summary

Aberdeenshire Council is seeking a Nature Nurture Practitioner to support children with social, emotional and behavioural needs through outdoor nature-based interventions. Based across all primary schools in the Laurencekirk cluster, the role focuses on fostering positive relationships, emotional resilience, and improved self-esteem and self-awareness.

PVG checks are required before appointment. This fixed-term post runs until 31 March 2027.

Qualifications

• HND Child Development or equivalent transferable skills.
• Experience with outdoor-based Intervention is preferred.

Are you passionate about improving outcomes for children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties? Do you have an HND Child Development qualification or equivalent transferrable skills and experience, a love of the outdoors and a desire to try something new? If so, this may be the post for you.

We are looking for Nature Nurture Practitioner to join our team.

Your role will be to provide targeted nature nurture outdoor intervention to children, to foster positive relationships, emotional resilience, and enhance self-esteem and self-awareness.

This post is working across all primary schools in the Laurencekirk cluster.

Fixed term for a period not exceeding 31/03/2027.

Requirements

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
