Job summary

Essex Wildlife Trust is seeking an Assistant Centre Manager for the Nature Discovery Centre at Thorndon, Brentwood. You will work with the Site Manager to run daily operations, including admin, retail and F&B, while supervising staff and volunteers and ensuring a memorable visitor experience in a busy, customer-facing setting.

The role requires front-facing retail/hospitality experience, a proactive, can-do attitude, and the ability to support colleagues across front and back of house during

Qualifications

• Essential front-facing retail and/or hospitality experience.
• Self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
• Willingness to support team members front and back of house during busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day operations (admin, retail and food & beverage).
• Supervise staff and volunteers and interact with guests to ensure an engaging visitor experience.
• Provide a welcoming visitor experience in a customer-facing environment with strong people skills.
