Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. seeks a National Operations Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of the Valero contract across a nationally dispersed fuel network in the UK.

You will drive service excellence, safety, compliance, and commercial performance while leading large, multi-site teams. The role requires strong leadership within unionised environments, robust budgeting, and stakeholder engagement with senior customer teams.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale, multi-site transport operations.
• Proven track record in unionised environments and industrial relations.
• Strong commercial acumen with budget ownership and profitability focus.
• Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end operational performance of the Valero contract across a national transport network.
• Own contract profitability, budget management, costs, and efficiency enhancements.
• Champion health, safety, wellbeing, regulatory compliance and governance across all locations.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior customer stakeholders and contract governance forums.
• Inspire and develop large teams, manage trade unions, succession planning and workforce engagement.
