Job summary

Stonewater Housing Association is seeking a Director of Building Safety & Compliance to lead safety culture across the organisation and ensure all statutory requirements are met. You will oversee auditing processes and manage a team responsible for Fire Safety, Gas & Water Hygiene, Building Safety, Mechanical & Electrical, Corporate Health & Safety, and Compliance Administration.

This national remit role requires building a high-performing team, delivering safety policies, and coordinating H&S

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of safety inspection teams across housing portfolios.
• Strong knowledge of social housing policy and practice.
• Experience with regulatory frameworks in England/Scotland.
• Track record of building high-performing multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety culture and ensure all statutory requirements are met.
• Oversee health & safety governance and auditing processes.
• Direct two key areas: employee safety and property compliance.
• Manage the Building Safety & Compliance team and budgets.
• Coordinate H&S contracts and align with the Safety, Growth & Investment Directorate.
