Job summary

Stonewater Housing Association is seeking a Director of Building Safety & Compliance to lead safety culture across the organisation. The role sits in the Safety, Growth & Investment Directorate and covers a national remit, ensuring the highest standards of safety regimes, corporate health & safety, and property compliance.

Responsibilities include leading the Health & Safety Group, driving audits to meet legislation, and overseeing a broad team across Fire Safety, Gas & Water

Qualifications

• Leadership in safety culture across organisation
• Auditing processes to ensure legislative compliance
• Management of Health & Safety Group and reporting tools
• Oversight of Building Safety, Fire Safety, Gas & Water Hygiene, Mechanical & Electrical, Corporate Health & Safety, Compliance Administration
• Co-ordination of H&S contracts and governance

Responsibilities

• Deliver safety culture and ensure statutory requirements are met
• Develop and deliver Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Ensure governance requirements are followed (Health & Safety Committee)
• Oversee teams: Fire Safety, Gas & Water Hygiene, Building Safety, Mechanical & Electrical, Corporate Health & Safety, Compliance Administration
• Coordinate and manage relevant H&S contracts to meet regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with Safety, Growth & Investment SMT to deliver strategic objectives
• Engage in ongoing professional training and Business Continuity planning
• Promote Equality and Diversity policies and procedures
• Line manage team members per HR policies including 1-2-1s and development needs
