Overview

apetito is the UK’s leading food supplier to the health and social care sectors, serving more than 600 care homes, 500 hospitals, and 200 education settings. Our meals are crafted by dieticians and chefs, then frozen to lock in freshness. For over 25 years, our sister company Wiltshire Farm Foods has been delivering over 300 frozen meals to customers' homes.

The Role and Team:

The National Field Sales Manager will lead a team of 6 regional Catering Consultants, responsible for acquiring new NHS trust business and retaining existing sites. They will 'own' the NHS market segment, meet targets, and be accountable for profit and loss.

This role involves providing excellent retention services to contractor sites via the National Account Team. Reporting to the General Manager of Healthcare, the role is part of the senior leadership team, working with other managers to execute strategies.

The position is home-based across the UK (excluding Northern Ireland), with travel required. The ideal candidate is ambitious, growth-oriented, and capable of engaging stakeholders from hospital kitchens to executive offices.

Responsibilities

  • Input and shape business strategy: Collaborate with senior leaders to develop profitable growth plans.
  • Drive new business: Generate NHS trust sector sales, achieve targets, and align value propositions with NHS needs.
  • Networking and engagement: Build relationships with NHS stakeholders and prospects, especially before tenders.
  • Business retention: Work with the National Account Team to implement plans with contractor sites and develop partnerships.
  • Enhance healthcare offerings: Collaborate internally to improve profitability, develop meal solutions, and support sustainability goals.
