We are seeking a dynamic and results-drivenNational Account Managerwith proven experience in theFood to Go sector, includingchilled ready meals, sandwiches, salads, pasta, wraps, andhot food catering solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and growing strategic national accounts while identifying new growth opportunities. This role involves building strong, long-term client partnerships and expanding our presence across retail, foodservice, and on-the-go channels.

An understanding of cafés, office catering, meetings, retail shops, schools, colleges, and event business environments is essential to tailor solutions effectively for diverse client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Development & Growth:
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of national and key accounts across retail, convenience, travel, education, workplace catering, and hospitality sectors.
  • Drive product listings and gain market share in chilled ready-to-eat and hot food offerings.
  • Identify and convert opportunities for upselling and category expansion within existing accounts.
  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Develop strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including buyers, category managers, and procurement teams.
  • Deliver tailored presentations and product proposals aligned with client needs and market trends.
  • Strategic Planning:
  • Work closely with marketing, NPD, and production teams to align product innovation with customer demands.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform account and channel strategies.
  • New Business within Existing Channels:
  • Leverage existing relationships to open up new sales opportunities across multiple sites and regions.
  • Understand the nuances of operating incafés, corporate offices, meetings, schools, colleges, retail shops, and event-based cateringenvironments to develop fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Track account performance, prepare accurate forecasts, and report on KPIs to senior leadership.
  • Monitor account profitability and ensure delivery against agreed commercial terms.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum in theFood to Gosector.
  • Proven success in managing and growing sales ofchilled foodsuch as ready meals, sandwiches, salads, pasta, and wraps.
  • Experience working with or supplying toretail multiples, foodservice distributors and convenience sectors.
  • Strong understanding ofhot food catering operations, packaging, and compliance.
  • Experience working with cafés, office catering, meetings, schools, colleges, retail shops, or event catering businesses is highly desirable.
  • Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and customer engagement abilities.
  • Willingness to travel nationally as required.
  • Experience withown-labelandbrandedproduct ranges.
  • Background in working with major UK retailers, contract caterers, or large-scale hospitality providers.
  • Understanding offood manufacturing processesand supply chain logistics.
