Job summary

Barfoots is seeking an experienced Production Support Engineer to join our Engineering team. You will maintain production equipment, diagnose faults, and perform root cause analysis to maximise uptime in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

With a mechanical or electrical bias, you will participate in continuous improvement, improve energy and cost performance, and support planned and reactive maintenance to keep the site running safely and reliably.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively on your own initiative.
• Electrical control panel troubleshooting experience would be an advantage.
• Experience working with inverters and PLC systems.
• Carrying out effective Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Developing and improving PPM programmes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical and electrical maintenance across production equipment.
• Respond quickly and safely to machinery breakdowns.
• Diagnose faults and complete effective root cause analysis.
• Maximise equipment uptime, reliability and availability.
• Complete and continuously improve planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
• Support both reactive and proactive maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and spare parts used.
• Ensure equipment is maintained to high safety, hygiene and operational standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects across the site.
