Job summary

Barfoots of Botley in the UK is seeking a Production Support Engineer to join our engineering team. You will help maximise equipment uptime through preventive and reactive maintenance, diagnosing faults and carrying out root cause analysis in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

With a mechanical or electrical bias, you will maintain production equipment, respond to breakdowns, improve plant performance and contribute to continuous improvement projects across the site.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work on own initiative.
• Electrical control panel troubleshooting experience is advantageous.
• Experience with inverters and PLC systems.
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience.
• Development of PPM programmes.
• Experience in FMCG or fresh food manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical and electrical maintenance across production equipment.
• Respond quickly and safely to machinery breakdowns.
• Diagnose faults and complete effective root cause analysis.
• Maximise equipment uptime, reliability and availability.
• Complete and continuously improve planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
• Support both reactive and proactive maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and spare parts used.
• Ensure equipment is maintained to high safety, hygiene and operational standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects across the site.
