Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a Multiskilled Plumber to join our housing maintenance team. The role covers provision of good quality rented housing, improving tenant relationships and ensuring health and safety standards.

You will be experienced in all plumbing aspects and qualified in a second trade, with the ability to work with various trades and stakeholders, and you must hold a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience in all aspects of a Plumbing and be qualified, certified & trained in a second trade (Suitable trades include: Joinery, Plastering, and Bricklaying)
• Experience in repairs, new build, maintenance, or contract environments, including assessing and inspecting jobs, and updating records.
• The ability to use the necessary power tools and plant safely, as well as the ability to follow all safety procedures on and off-site.
• Experience of carrying out investigations and tests to identify faults and the root cause of issues, and implement lasting solutions.
• Ability to use elements of the skills of other general trades to meet the target of first-time fix where it is efficient and appropriate to do so.
• Ability to demonstrate an organised but flexible approach, and the ability to meet deadlines

• You will support the maintenance of assets to meet statutory minimum standards for housing, installation, repair, and maintenance obligations.
• You will be working with a wider range of customers and stakeholders and providing excellent customer service.

Job description

Role: Multiskilled Plumber

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 37 hours per week - You will be required to work these hours in accordance with the needs and requirements of the service, between the hours of 6am and 8pm Monday to Friday

Worker Type: Off-site worker

Salary: Grade H – starting salary of £42,123 (level 1), rising to £45,529 (level 4) per annum
