Job summary

Nottingham City Council is looking for a experienced Multiskilled Plumber to contribute to the provision of good quality rented housing, improve tenant satisfaction, and uphold health and safety standards across maintenance work.

In this off-site role (37 hours per week), you will support asset maintenance to meet statutory standards, work with a range of customers, and demonstrate flexibility and reliability while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Experience in all aspects of plumbing and trained in a second trade (Joinery/Plastering/Bricklaying).
  • Experience in repairs, new builds, or maintenance in contracted environments.
  • Ability to use power tools and follow safety procedures on- and off-site.
  • Able to investigate faults and identify root causes for lasting solutions.

Job description

Role: Multiskilled Plumber

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 37 hours per week - You will be required to work these hours in accordance with the needs and requirements of the service, between the hours of 6am and 8pm Monday to Friday

Worker Type: Off‑site worker

Salary: Grade H – starting salary of £42,123 (level 1), rising to £45,529 (level 4) per annum

About the Role

As an experienced Multiskilled Plumber,you will contribute to the provision of good quality rented housing, and the achievement of high levels of tenant satisfaction, improving the landlord and tenant relationships, and protecting health and safety.

You will support the maintenance of assets to meet statutory minimum standards for housing, installation, repair, and maintenance obligations.

You will be working with a wider range of customers and stakeholders and providing excellent customer service.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. Experience in all aspects of a Plumbing and be qualified, certified & trained in a second trade (Suitable trades include: Joinery, Plastering, and Bricklaying)
  2. Experience in repairs, new build, maintenance, or contract environments, including assessing and inspecting jobs, and updating records.
  3. The ability to use the necessary power tools and plant safely, as well as the ability to follow all safety procedures on and off-site.
  4. Experience of carrying out investigations and tests to identify faults and the root cause of issues, and implement lasting solutions.
  5. Ability to use elements of the skills of other general trades to meet the target of first-time fix where it is efficient and appropriate to do so.
  6. Ability to demonstratean organised but flexible approach, and the ability to meet deadlines
