Job summary

NHS Highland is seeking a Maintenance Shift Technician (Multi-Skilled) to cover Raigmore Hospital. The role focuses on mechanical, plumbing and electrical maintenance of building services, contributing to high-quality patient care.

Successful candidates will have a trade apprenticeship, City & Guilds or equivalent, with at least five years’ experience, and a current UK driving licence. The position is full-time within the Estates Department.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship in Electrical, Mechanical or Plumbing with a City & Guilds or equivalent.
• City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in the trade.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the trade.
• Ability to work to regulations and industry standards.
• Lone working capability and on-site shift rota readiness.
• Good communication and team working skills.
• Literacy and numeracy.
• Current UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical, plumbing and electrical maintenance and repair of building services, plant and equipment to support patient care.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns when on shift rota.
