Job summary

Heysham Port Ltd is seeking a Multiskilled Day Technician to support the Container Division Engineering team at the Port of Liverpool. You will perform planned and corrective maintenance on gantry cranes (STS/CRMG) and related electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring safe, on-time operations.

The role requires an HNC or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with experience on PLCs, motors/controls, and VSDs, plus knowledge of safety and permit-to-work processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC level in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience with PLCs, motors/controls, VSDs and electrical installation works, including maintenance and repair of electrical infrastructure.
• Fault finding experience with permit to work systems and incident reporting.
• Knowledge of maintenance strategies such as RCM, PM, CBM and TPM.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Planned Preventative and Corrective Maintenance on Gantry Cranes (STS/CRMG) and related equipment.
• Support day-to-day maintenance to ensure safe, on-time servicing of the port estate.
• Work in a 4 on/4 off 12-hour shift pattern and adhere to Peel Ports Electrical Safety Rules.
